If you’ve had a baby and long to get your pre-baby body back, a Mommy Makeover may be right for you. Different procedures can address areas of the body where women typically notice changes post-pregnancy. The goal is to restore the shape and appearance of a woman’s body after childbearing. Areas that can be targeted include the breasts, abdomen and waist, and buttocks.

Plastic surgery procedures are highly individualized for each patient. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. Some women may need breast augmentation or a breast lift. Others may benefit from a tummy tuck. A lower body lift can help women tone their buttocks area. Liposuction is another option for women to consider. All these procedures can enhance a woman’s self-image and self-confidence.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation can restore breast volume that may have been lost after pregnancy. During breast augmentation, the surgeon places an implant either beneath the breast muscle or above it. The implant may be filled with sterile saline or silicone gel. The surgeon can help guide the patient in choosing the correct size implant to achieve her optimal result. Breast augmentation can increase the fullness and projection of the breast and improve the balance of breast and hip contours.

A breast augmentation alone will not correct sagging breasts. A breast lift is the proper procedure for addressing severely drooping breasts. This procedure will lift and contour breasts that have changed after breastfeeding. Excess skin and fat are removed, and the breast is reshaped. The nipple is then repositioned higher on the chest wall.

Tummy Tuck

tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, can get rid of a tummy pooch that has not responded to diet and exercise. This procedure helps women who have recently given birth achieve a slimmer and more contoured stomach. The surgeon repairs the damaged abdominal walls and lays them flat again. Then excess skin is trimmed away. A tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss. A woman may want to postpone this procedure if she is considering future pregnancies.

Lower Body Lift

lower body lift can provide tightening from the abdomen to the thighs. The surgery includes a buttock lift, which tones and elevates the buttocks. The overall goal is to create a slimmer and more streamlined profile.

Liposuction can be used to slim and reshape specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits. Areas that may benefit include hips, buttocks, thighs, waist, upper arms, abdomen, and waist. Liposuction can be performed in conjunction with other surgical procedures such as a tummy tuck. Liposuction is not an effective treatment for cellulite.
