Frequently Asked Questions
You’re a good candidate for abdominoplasty if you have a stubborn stomach pooch that won’t respond to diet and exercise. All patients should be nonsmokers with realistic expectations for their procedure.
Patients may start seeing results within four to six weeks, as this is the period when a majority of post-op swelling has gone down. Final results may not be visible until about six months after surgery, which is when most surgical swelling has disappeared.
Results include a flatter, more contoured stomach that makes it easier for you to fit in your favorite pants or dress.
The majority of your recovery takes place over the course of six weeks; during the first week, you’ll spend much of your time recuperating at home. You’ll also need to wear compression garments around your stomach, as it can help reduce post-op swelling and bruising. You may be cleared to return to work about one to two weeks after your surgery, depending on the type of job you have.
Throughout your abdominoplasty recovery, you’ll have regular check-ins with Dr. Keusch to ensure your recovery is successful.
