Frequently Asked Questions
You’re a good candidate for Ultherapy treatments if you have mild to moderate signs of skin sagging, especially in common trouble spots like the forehead, eyebrows, cheeks, jawline, underneath the chin, chest, and neck. All candidates should be healthy individuals with realistic expectations for their results.
A typical treatment takes about one to two hours to perform. Throughout the procedure, you may notice a moderate warming sensation; this is a sign that your Ultherapy treatment is working, as the ultrasound energy is tightening and toning your subdermal layers.
There may be some discomfort and patients may be advised to take pain medication prior to the procedure. Most patients have found that oral medication has lessened the pain, and reduced the discomfort once the procedure is under way. Patients may also find it more comfortable to have this procedure paired with IV sedation in our AAAASF accredited surgical center. Ultherapy may be performed as a sole procedure or in combination with another surgical procedure.
Results can take 4 to 6 weeks to materialize; however, once they do, you’ll feel like your face looks years younger. Skin will be tighter and more toned, while wrinkles and fine lines may be less apparent. Patients with sagging skin around the jowls may notice a more contoured profile.
There’s no downtime or recovery associated with Ultherapy treatments, so you don’t have to take days off just to get tighter, firmer-looking skin. However, you may feel some slight tingling or warming after your procedure; these side effects should fade after a few days.
