HOW DOES BREAST LIPOSUCTION WORK?

Breast liposuction is performed in a similar manner to regular liposuction, in that a small cannula is used to break up fatty tissue and manually remove it from the breasts. The procedure doesn’t involve surgical incisions, and can sometimes be performed under local anesthesia. The entire procedure takes one to two hours to perform with excellent results, with many patients feeling a significant improvement in neck and back pain almost immediately after the surgery.

You’re a good candidate for breast liposuction if you want to reduce the size of your breasts, but don’t want to go through incisional surgery to do it.

WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?

Most patients can see initial results immediately after surgery, as your breasts may appear slightly smaller. Some swelling may continue to be present about four to six months after surgery, meaning final results may not be visible until about six months after the procedure.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY LIKE?

You’ll do the brunt of your recovering for the first week after the surgery when you’ll be encouraged to rest and recuperate. You may be cleared to return to work within one week of surgery; you’ll also be required to wear compression garments to help reduce post-surgical swelling and bruising. Patients can resume strenuous physical activity after one to two weeks of recovery.
