Have you ever considered the benefits of a facelift but were unsure if you wanted to undergo surgery and a lengthy recovery time?  Are you tired of seeing sagging skin and wrinkles on your face, jawline, neck, and upper chest (decolletage)?  Would you like to tighten and firm the skin and eliminate wrinkles in these areas without any downtime?  If this sounds appealing, then Ultherapy may be the right treatment for you.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is an FDA approved non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound to lift, tighten, and tone sagging facial and neck skin.  While not a facelift, Ultherapy is an alternative treatment that can tighten the skin and produce a younger-looking appearance.  It’s the only cosmetic procedure that uses ultrasound imaging, so doctors are able to see the deep tissue layers under the skin that is being treated.

How does Ultherapy work?

Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that triggers the body’s own regenerative response to tightening the skin around the brows, neck and lower face. It can also be used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the chest, to tighten the jowls, and even to treat fine lines around the eyes, with absolutely no downtime.

Ultherapy can’t be compared to lasers, radiofrequency or surgery. This is because the ultrasound bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of energy at the right depths and the right temperature. When this energy is delivered, it triggers a natural response under the skin which jumpstarts the regenerative process that produces new collagen.

On average, Ultherapy treatment lasts for sixty to ninety minutes. It may be longer depending on how many breaks are taken. The results of the procedure are not as fast as one has to wait for about three or so months before you can notice any change. On the other hand, they are lasting results as the effects of the procedure last up to two years.

Patients may be advised to take pain medication prior to the procedure. Most patients have found that oral medication has lessened the pain, and reduced the discomfort one is under when the procedure is under way. Patients may also find it is more tolerable to have this procedure paired with a surgical procedure and performed under anesthesia in the OR.

Who is a good candidate?

Men and women who have mild to moderate skin sagging in areas such as the eyebrows, forehead, jawline, under the chin, the neck, and the chest are good candidates for Ultherapy.  The treatment is appropriate for all skin colors.  Patients should be healthy individuals with realistic expectations for their results.Optimal results may develop over time and may require 2 or more treatments depending on the output of collagen and level of skin tightening.

Ultherapy is considered the Gold-Standard of non-surgical face treatments and lifting procedures. Paired with Juvederm and Botox– patients can expect the maximum results. Ask today for a package price.

Treatment and follow-up

A typical Ultherapy procedure can take one to two hours.  Treatment is tailored to the patient’s specific needs.  Following the procedure, patients are able to resume normal activities immediately.  There may be a slight skin redness or puffiness that fades in a few hours.  The results can last a year or more.  Some patients will opt for a touch up treatment after that for maintenance.
