Boca Raton Plastic Surgery Center is now offering PDRN facials. Sometimes referred to as Salmon DNA Facials, these treatments are steadily gaining popularity. PDRN facials are anti-inflammatory, safe for all skin types, and are the perfect way to treat yourself to a revitalized complexion.
What is used in PDRN facials?
At Boca Raton Plastic Surgery Center, we use a product called VAMP™, a sterile topical solution that is enriched with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and DNA derived from salmon. These essential nutrients are formulated to rejuvenate the skin and are vital in providing nourishing skin hydration that helps reduce visible signs of aging. Under-hydrated skin appears dry, dull, and flaky with uneven skin tone, rough patches, and more fine lines. Well hydrated skin looks plump, smooth, and more youthful.
Who is a good candidate for PDRN facials?
PDRN / Salmon DNA facials are beneficial to anyone wanting to target fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture. The PDRN solution will tighten enlarged pores, smooth wrinkles, improve skin tonicity, and revitalize the complexion. Whether you are looking for ways to combat loss of hydration due to sun exposure or the dry, heated air of winter environments, a PDRN facial will hydrate the skin, improve skin tone, and restore your skin’s youthful glow.
Does PDRN stimulate collagen production?
A benefit of PDRN is that it stimulates collagen production. A natural sign of aging is a decrease in collagen production. By our 30s and 40s, many of us notice our skin becoming less firm and more prone to fine lines and wrinkles. This is due to a loss of collagen, which is like the scaffolding for our skin. Stimulating the production of new collagen tightens the skin, improves its firmness, and reduces sagging.
After a PDRN facial, collagen production continues to increase, improving skin firmness and texture. A series of facials spaced a few weeks apart are often recommended for optimal results. Maintenance sessions every 4-6 months keep the skin hydrated and glowing.
Can other treatments be used with PDRN?
Microneedling can be used to enhance the absorption of the PDRN solution. The microneedling procedure creates tiny channels in the skin, allowing the topical solution to be absorbed into deeper layers of skin. If microneedling is used, the patient may experience mild redness and swelling in the treated areas that may last for 24–48 hours.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
PDRN facials have little to no downtime. It’s recommended to avoid direct sun exposure for a few days. Use only gentle facial cleansing products for the first couple of days.
