Boca Raton Plastic Surgery Center is excited to offer our patients the new Even and Correct Collection recently launched by SkinMedica®. The collection is a customizable approach used to target the appearance of hyperpigmentation and improve skin tone and texture. The items in the collection can be added together or separately to a daily skincare regimen. The Even and Correct Collection includes the following new products: Advanced Brightening Treatment, Brightening Treatment Pads, and Dark Spot Cream.
Facial Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation refers to dark colored patches on the skin due to excess melanin production. While not dangerous, they can be an annoying and embarrassing problem. Pigmentation spots may occur as the result of inflammation from acne. Hormonal changes during pregnancy are another common cause of brownish areas on the face. This condition is called melasma and usually occurs on the forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Other dark spots may be related to excess sun exposure over time. These sunspots often appear on the face, shoulders, and the backs of the hands. They are sometimes called “age spots” or “liver spots”.
Here is how the SkinMedica® Even and Correct Collection works on hyperpigmentation:
Brightening Treatment Pads
These alcohol-free treatment pads may be used daily to exfoliate the skin for brighter tone and smoother texture. They help prepare the skin for better absorption of the other treatment products.
Advanced Brightening Treatment
This powerful daily serum is clinically proven to treat the appearance of melasma and other hyperpigmentation conditions. It adds moisture to dull, dehydrated skin and evens out skin tone. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is reduced.
Dark Spot Cream
This fast acting spot treatment booster targets the most stubborn dark spots caused by sun exposure and acne. It’s applied in the evening as needed. The cream contains 0.25% retinol, which has anti-aging properties. Visible results may be seen in as little as two weeks, and skin tone will continue to improve over twelve weeks. Dark Spot Cream should not be used by pregnant or lactating women.

Dr. Cristina Keusch recommends the SkinMedica® Even and Correct Collection. These products are fragrance free and do not contain hydroquinone. They are safe and effective on all skin types and multiple ethnicities. Hyperpigmentation treatments may increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunburn.
