Do you feel as if your complexion needs a refresh or a little rejuvenation?  Are you starting to notice some telltale signs of skin aging like fine lines, wrinkles, or sun damage?  There are a variety of products and treatments on the market targeting aging skin, making it difficult to know where to begin.  If you’ve already included moisturizers, Retinol, and hydration serums in your daily facial routine, it could be time to try a minimally-invasive nonsurgical option.

What is Vivace®?

Vivace is a cosmetic treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy (heat).  To further break that down, microneedling uses thin, sterile needles to make tiny holes in the top layer of skin.  This jump-starts the skin’s healing process to encourage the production of collagen and elastin.  These are the essential proteins that keep our skin smooth, firm, and youthful-looking.  Vivace Microneedling goes a step further, using radiofrequency heat to stimulate additional collagen production.  This technique enables patients to achieve optimal results from their treatments.

Are Vivace® treatments painful?

Patients should experience minimal discomfort during and after their treatment.  Some people feel only a light pressure in the treated area.

Who is a good candidate for Vivace® Microneedling?

Mature Woman with beautiful skin

Vivace is appropriate for people who have areas of fine lines, wrinkles, and crepiness.  These are a natural consequence of aging, as our bodies produce less collagen and elastin.  Vivace tightens and improves skin tone and texture, leaving the skin firmer and smoother.  Vivace can also improve skin imperfections such as acne scars.  People with hyperpigmentation, or dark patches due to hormonal changes or sun damage, can see improvements as well.

Treatment and Recovery

Treatments can take 30 to 45 minutes.  This will depend on the size of the treatment area.  Patients will notice redness immediately following Vivace treatment, but there is no real downtime.  A cooling peptide mask can be used in conjunction with the patient’s regular skincare routine.  It’s essential to wear sunscreen to protect the skin as it heals.

Dr. Keusch recommends a series of three treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, for best results.  The body will continue to produce collagen and elastin over the next six months.  Results can last several years, especially with regular touch-ups in problem areas.

In addition, most patients pair the Vivace with a DiamondGlow skincare treatment to help cleanse and open up the skin so the Vivace can work better.
