Are Your Upper Arms Sagging To The Point Where You Feel Self-Conscious About Showing Them Off?

Arm contouring is a surgical procedure designed to address sagging arm skin and fat that may not be responding to diet and exercise alone. Arm contouring – also referred to as a brachioplasty – is an excellent surgical treatment for patients who have poor skin laxity and therefore cannot tighten or tone their upper arms without intervention. Arm contouring has a high patient satisfaction rating, as it has helped many individuals feel more confident and happy showing off their upper arms!

How Does It Work?

Arm contouring works by using an underarm incision to access sagging skin (the surgical incision may be noticeable – Dr. Keusch can discuss post-op scarring treatment options with you). Dr. Keusch will remove excess fat and trim excess skin to help reveal the patient’s newly contoured arm. The incisions are closed at the end of the procedure.

Am I a Good Candidate For Arm Contouring?

You’re a good candidate for arm contouring if you have sagging skin and fat on the upper arms. This sagging may be a result of aging or of significant weight loss; whatever the reason, the ideal candidate should be a nonsmoker who is committed to continuing with a healthy lifestyle.

What Results Will I See?*

Patients may see their results right away, especially if sagging is particularly pronounced. Some swelling and bruising will take place over the course of a month, but by the end of this recovery period, you’ll notice sleeker, younger, and more contoured-looking arms.

What is the Recovery Like?*

The majority of the recovery period takes about four to six weeks. During the first month, you should expect to minimize your arm movement; that includes avoiding lifting anything heavier than five pounds or raising your arms. You should be cleared to return back to work within one to two weeks, depending on your job. You may be cleared by Dr. Keusch to resume normal exercise at or around the six-week mark.

Throughout your arm contouring recovery, you’ll have regular check-ins with Dr. Keusch to ensure your recovery is successful.
