Is Microblading a Tattoo?
Microblading is similar to tattooing in the sense that dye is deposited under the skin, but where it differs is the use of a tool that allows for thin and precise strokes that are as thin as hairs. These strokes are not as deep in the skin as tattoos are. Microblading is semi-permanent and lasts 1-3 years depending on skin type, product use & environmental factors.
How Long Does Microblading Take?
Microblading is a relatively quick process. Generally the majority of time will be spent measuring and drawing your eyebrow shape, and walking through color choices with the patient. The procedure takes about 30 minutes to an hour, and a second touch-up appointment can also last about an hour. When trying to gauge time, the entire process (2 appointments) takes about 2-3 hours.
How Long Does Microblading Last?
Microblading lasts anywhere between 18-30 months. As the pigment fades, touch ups may be required every six months to a year. The range of time microblading lasts depends on many factors including a patient;s skin type. Patients with oily skin are still candidates for microblading, but the length of time to procedure lasts can vary and may require additional touch ups.
